ACTIVITIES FOR THE MONTH
The office team is making great strides in both operational efficiency and community engagement. Here’s a quick summary of the initiatives:
- Fleet Maintenance Program: Centralized with one vendor for consistency and streamlined service.
- Quarterly Newsletters: Keeping the community informed about system updates.
- Backflow Device Review: Ensuring only necessary installations for existing customers.
- New Outdoor Break Area: A great addition for team morale and comfort.
The field team is evaluating pressure zones in relation to elevation is key for optimizing pumping costs in water systems. Since Pine, Arizona has varied terrain, managing pressure zones effectively can help:
- Reduce energy costs by minimizing unnecessary pumping.
- Improve system reliability by balancing pressure across zones.
- Protect infrastructure from pressure-related damage.
- Ensure consistent water delivery to all elevations.
They are looking at:
- Mapping Elevation Profiles: Use GIS tools to visualize elevation changes and overlay pressure zones.
- Pressure Monitoring: Install sensors to track real-time pressure data across zones.
- Cost Analysis: Compare energy usage across zones to identify high-cost areas.
- Zoning Adjustments: Reconfigure zones or add booster stations where needed.

ONGOING PROJECTS
- Cemetery Road construction is on schedule. No request at this time for service lines to be moved.
- Lead and Copper un-known service line project will begin in October.
- Public notification and outreach project for upcoming studies and construction communication.
- GIS staff training is scheduled for the first week of October.
- Assessment for contracting with Cla-Val on 6” PRV’s will begin the end of this month.
Next month two of our field team will being taking an in-depth VFD course.
